16. Short Hair, Don't Care

So... I cut my hair.

Well, ok I didn't do it but it's been cut and I am in love!

So, my hair has always been as long as I could have it, I've loved long hair so have always refused to  let any hairdresser cut more than an inch off my hair. But I decided forget it I'm cutting my hair. And honestly I'm so glad I did!
So, this is my hair now it is just about shoulder-length and I've had it coloured in a balayage style - and the result is wonderful!

Getting my hair to do anything has always been a pain - it has refused to be curled or styled or volumised. It's just been straight, limp and flat. But not any more my hair is now voluminous and it has managed to hold a curl - something my old hair would never do!

I keep putting argon oil on my hair each morning to maintain it's shine and make sure it stays healthy after being coloured. And I am really pleased the way my haircut has turned out - I wasn't too sure at first but I've fallen in love with my hair like this and I would really recommend changing your hairstyle to anyone who is considering it!

15. NCS

Hello again. I know it has been a while but I've been super bust recently and I went on holiday and the wifi was terrible (absolute nightmare)! But I'm back now, so on with the blog post...

So, NCS (National Citizens Service) is a programme run by the government which runs every school holiday (e.g. summer holidays and half-term - you'll need to check locally for actual dates) for 16-17 year olds. The programme features one week on an activities based camp (think abseiling and rock climbing), another week staying at university accommodation learning life-skills and other skills you'll need for the future (ie. CV writing and budgeting) and then (one or) two final weeks organising an event to raise money for charity (such as a talent show or bake sale).

And guess what - I'm going tomorrow!

So I'm packing up all my stuff, leaving home and travelling to Swindon. I'm pretty excited, a few of my close friends are going, so it should be a really fun experience and I can't wait!

I'm going to do another blog post about NCS after I've finished the programme to tell you all about my experience. But it should be fun and it's another thing to add to my CV which is always a bonus!

14. Summer Essentials

Sorry this is a couple of days late, I've had a dance display all week which meant that I didn't have enough time to post.Displaying WP_20160627_016.jpg But don't worry because there will be another post on Thursday, so that's two posts this week - you lucky things!

Floral Cigarette Trousers
Floral. Cigarette. Trousers. Need I say more? These are from Dorothy Perkins and I am in love with them! They are super comfy and gorgeous to wear. I think any type of floral trousers are just perfect for summer - they're really pretty and just generally very summery!

Patterned Top
This is my go-to summer top to just throw on. It is only from Primark but it is so comfy and I just love it. In summer, you need a light top that you can just throw on and this top is just perfect.

Lip Balm
Everyone needs lip balm in summer-time and this E.O.S. lip balm in summer fruits is smells so good and is really moisturising, which is great for summer. It's really important when buying lip balm (or any other lip product) to check that it contains some kind of SPF, as this is so important in summer.

Sunglasses
Sunglasses are a summer staple and are something that I cannot live without! These are from Vera Wang and I am in love with the shape and just everything about them.

Sports Top
This top is just from Primark. I think sports tops are just great for summer when you want to be more active - summer can actually makes fitness enjoyable!

Sea Salt Spray
I love sea salt spray it is great for making beach-worthy waves without having to be anyway near the beach, it smells divine and it actually adds a bit of texture to my otherwise annoying hair! This one is from VO5 and I love it - it is so nice to spray into my hair!
So these are all of my summer essentials, let me know some of yours in the comments below.
See you next week,

13. Prom Dress

As you can probably tell from the title of this post this is my prom dress!

Okay, so I have finally managed to find a dress and it has taken ages!

I've tried on countless dresses and been to too many shops to name but I have finally found my prom dress. And isn't it a beauty?

Displaying WP_20160618_006.jpg

So here it is, my infamous prom dress!
For my shoes I going to be wearing some beautiful nude heels from Dorothy Perkins which I am in love with!

I have had a lot of fun trying on dresses and searching online. But now the real fun can begin - finding all of my accessories to go with it!

P.S. Sorry for the awful photo I'm currently getting my prom dress taken up at the bottom so it's the correct length, so I thought I would just post this with a kind of jokey photo because I won't be getting my prom dress back until next week and that's too long to wait to post this. Also excuse my sister's room becuase it is a mess but it was the room with the best mirror - so that's that bye x

12. Blogposts and Big Ideas

So... It's been a while.

It turns out I haven't posted on here in like 4 months! That's crazy!

But I'm back (I promise) and I've got quite a few random little blogposts all ready to go, so hopefully I will be back to my original schedule of posting once a week (most probably a Thursday).

So this is basically just a little update on my life. I'm 16 now (!!) and my GCSEs are underway. Life is good and my main struggle at the moment is trying to find a prom dress I like - why do I have to be so picky?? But yeah, nothing much has changed I just decided I wanted to post a bit more and just do more with my blog.

So that's me - See you next week (hopefully).

11. January Favourites

My first favourite this month is a black rose and cassis candle from Superdrug. I got this in December for friend to give it to her for christmas but this candle smelt so gorgeous that I actually kept it (I know very cheeky!) and gave her a jelly belly reed diffuser instead, which also smelt really lovely.
My next favourite is the Clarins hydra-matte lotion moisturiser. I have had this for quite a while now but I find I always use moisturisers more in the winter months. This moisturiser is really really moisturizing but it is meant for combination skin and I have normal skin so I am probably using the wrong moisturiser - but it is still really good!

I have been loving my Clarins anti-pollution cleansing milk, this cleanser is really good for my skin and I just love everything about it. It smells really good, feels really nice and creamy and is great for my skin!

I have also been loving the Ted Baker eau de toilette this month, I got this a while ago but I have using it a lot in January. It smells really lovely and the pink perfume looks very cute in the triangular bottle! It also lasts throughout the day and I only have to reapply it once for it to last the whole day!
My next January favourite is the Lush Santa's lip scrub. I got this for Christmas and is is really good for my lips. It also smells like coca cola, which I love! I now keep it in my bedside table and I use it every night before I go to bed! The only down side is the red hearts in the scrub, these look really cute in the tub but are really annoying to get off my lips and just kind of get stuck! But other than this I love this lip scrub!

Kiko Deko Delights lipstick, I don't know what shade this lipstick is but it is a really pretty pink shade. I purchased this lipstick at the start of this month and I have been using it loads and I always apply a quick coat before I head off to school. The lipstick is really pigmented and the packaging looks really nice as well. This lipstick is really creamy and is not too dry on my lips which is great! I apply this lipstick in the morning and I can still see the colour on my lips at the end of the day, it is great!

Thanks for reading through my January favourites, if there are any things that you have been loving this month - beauty related or not - please leave a comment below and I will be sure to read it! I hope you have had  great January and go on to have an amazing 2016!

10. Green Tea

Ok, so green tea is my new obsession.

I am sat here now writing this blog post with a cup of green tea watching the X Factor, I'm actually quite scared that I'm going to spill my tea on my laptop - X Factor makes me too emotional!

But what I really love about green tea, apart from its urge to spill all over my laptop, is that it has done wonders for my skin. I mean seriously my skin is usually breaking out in loads of spots but since I have started drinking green tea my skin has really cleared up. I mean there is still that one spot that refuses to go anywhere, even with every spot cream ever applied to it, but in general my skin is a lot better and less prone to breakouts than it used to be.

I usually drink a cup of green tea a day, which tends to be when I am relaxing on the sofa watching Netflix. On a completely unrelated note, I have just gotten into Once upon a time on Netflix after my cousin recommended it to me. I really needed a series to fill the void in my life whilst I wait for PLL Series 6B to come out and Once upon a time has done just that job and I am completely obsessed! Also, I almost forgot his but I am really enjoying watching the Netflix series Scream, it is so good and I am obsessed trying to work out who the killer is!

Anyway, back to green tea! I have found that if I drink green tea in the morning it makes me so much more awake in school, which I really need on a Monday morning! My favourite green teas are flavored, the green tea I am loving at the moment is mango and passion-fruit flavor, however you can usually find me drinking green tea with a hint of lemon.

I love green tea and I think that a big part of that love comes from the fact that green tea was the main thing I drank when I was doing my Duke of Edinburgh expedition, I find that whenever I drink green tea I find myself thinking of all the great memories I made whilst on that expedition. Honestly, if anyone is thinking of doing their Duke of Edinburgh's award then I would definitely recommend that you do it. It is a lot of work but I had so much fun, made great memories and grew so much closer to the people who were in my group!

So in conclusion, I love green tea!
